The entrance examination is designed to assess the student's basic knowledge and aptitude. The test pattern varies according to the class for which admission is sought.
Classes 1-5
Subjects Covered:
- English: Basic reading, writing, vocabulary, comprehension
- Mathematics: Basic arithmetic, number recognition, simple problems
- General Awareness: Basic knowledge about surroundings, animals, plants, etc.
Duration: 60 minutes | Total Marks: 100
Classes 6-8
Subjects Covered:
- English: Grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, composition
- Mathematics: Arithmetic, algebra, geometry basics
- Science: Basic concepts in Physics, Chemistry, Biology
- General Knowledge: Current affairs, history, geography basics
Duration: 90 minutes | Total Marks: 150
Classes 9-10
Subjects Covered:
- English: Grammar, comprehension, essay writing
- Mathematics: Algebra, geometry, arithmetic
- Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology concepts
- Social Studies: History, Geography, Civics
Duration: 120 minutes | Total Marks: 200
Classes 11-12
Subjects Covered:
For Class 11-12, the entrance test focuses on the stream chosen:
- Science Stream: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology
- Commerce Stream: Mathematics, Accountancy basics, Economics
- Humanities: English, History, Geography, Political Science
Duration: 150 minutes | Total Marks: 250
Pre Primary
For Pre Primary admissions, there is no written test. Instead, an interaction session is conducted with the child and parents to assess:
- Basic communication skills
- Social interaction
- Readiness for school
- Parent's expectations and alignment with school values
Important Notes
- The syllabus is based on the curriculum of the previous class
- Questions are designed to test understanding rather than rote learning
- Students should bring their own writing materials
- Use of calculators is not allowed (except for higher classes if specified)
- Results will be communicated within a week of the examination
